Currently, it is the oldest brand dedicated to this manufacturing and holds the first place worldwide in the field of military swords and sabers. Armies from the five continents adorn their uniforms with Bermejo swords.

It has gathered all the knowledge and experience from over a century of specialized work in the manufacturing of our traditional Toledo craftsmanship. The company boasts irreplaceable master craftsmen, swordsmiths, specialists, and professionals, some trained at the historic National Weapons Factory of Toledo, who currently continue to carry out this work, maintaining the well-deserved prestige, both nationally and internationally.

The Secret of Tempering

This skill and mastery, the ‘Secret of Tempering,’ have been guarded jealously by all the master swordsmiths of Toledo, transmitted solely from generation to generation until today, allowing us to affirm that ‘Toledo Steel’ is unique in the world. Thanks to our King Carlos III, when swordsmithing was being replaced by firearms and faced a significant risk of extinction, this intelligent monarch ordered the construction of the National Weapons Factory of Toledo with a primary goal: to gather these renowned swordsmiths to safeguard and ensure the continuity of this recognized artisan industry. In this factory, swords, sabers, daggers, etc., were intricately crafted and richly decorated for kings, heads of state, ambassadors, and distinguished military figures from around the world.

Toledo is famous for its history, its art, and its ‘STEEL’. The fame of the ancient Toledo steels lay in the skill with which artisans handled the art of tempering steel without any technical knowledge or instrument capable of remotely measuring the high temperatures applied to the steel in this magical transformation and treatment. This skill and mastery, the ‘Secret of Tempering,’ have been guarded very closely by all the master swordsmiths of Toledo, being transmitted only from generation to generation until today, allowing us to assert that ‘Toledo Steel’ is unique in the world.
